Streptococci are a large and diverse group of gram-positive cocci that grow in pairs or chains. Group A Streptococci are gram-positive, non motile, non-spore-forming organisms. Streptococcus Haemolyticus (a group a Streptococcus) is a ubiquitous organism that is known to provoke a wide variety of diseases in humans. A common bacteria of the skin that causes strep throat (streptococcal pharyngitis), impetigo, other skin infections, rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, glomerulonephritis, and invasive fasciitis.
