Ciprofloxacin is used to treat bacterial infections that cause bone and joint infections, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, malignant otitis externa, respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, anthrax, and chancroid. It can also be used to treat acute uncomplicated cystitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, lower respiratory tract infections, acute sinusitis, skin and skin structure infections, infectious diarrhea, typhoid fever, uncomplicated cervical and urethral gonorrhea.
